Innovation Fund

eircom first announced the Web Innovation Fund in 2007 at the Golden Spider Awards to promote, mentor and sponsor innovative web applications in the Irish Internet industry. Eircom recognises the difficulties for start-ups and entrepreneurs to obtain funding, particularly in the current economic climate. As such, the fund – worth €100,000 - demonstrates our commitment to foster entrepreneurship in the online sector.

This year eircom has partnered with the Telecommunication Software & Systems Group (TSSG) - Ireland's leading R&D centre. As part of its support for the eircom Web Innovation Fund, TSSG will provide free consultancy and training to the winners of the competition. In addition the TSSG will work with the winners to help them develop their web innovation further technically, provide entrepreneurial training and incubation space, and help the winners get their product live and operational

TSSG was founded in 1996. Since then, it has grown into a large research centre (over 40 active projects, over 40 completed projects, 160 active staff and students, and over €40Million in funding 1996-2007).
